Darrens Experimental EA’S Section

Purpose: This members’ area converts Darren’s manual experimental trading methods into practical Profectus MT5 EA project blueprints. It tells you which blocks, variables and inputs to add, while clearly identifying methods that require an MT5 custom indicator.

Experimental testing rules: Demo first. Use completed candles (Shift 1), one position per symbol, 0.25% starting risk (maximum 0.50% during testing), minimum 1:1.5 reward-to-risk, a 2% maximum daily-loss lock, and stop after two full losses. Do not use martingale, grid averaging or recovery lots.

  • double RiskMoney, StopDistancePoints, LotSize, ATRValue, EntryPrice, StopPrice, TargetPrice;
  • int LossesToday, BarsInTrade; datetime LastBarTime;

Main block flow

  1. On Tick → detect a new completed candle.
  2. Check spread, session, high-impact news, daily loss, two-loss stop and existing position.
  3. Read trend and strategy indicators at Shift 2 and Shift 1.
  4. Set SignalBuy or SignalSell only when every rule agrees.
  5. Calculate stop distance, risk money and normalized lot size.
  6. Place one Buy or Sell with hard stop and target.
  7. Manage break-even/trailing only after +1R; record the result for 30-trade review.

Strategy Project Blueprints

1. Fisher Transform Reversal EA

Project item Profectus build
Indicator route Custom Indicator / iCustom: Fisher Transform
Starting timeframe M15 or H1
Strategy inputs FisherPeriod=10; TriggerLevel=1.5; ATRPeriod=14
BUY rule Fisher was below -1.5 and crosses above its trigger on the completed candle; price above SMA200.
SELL rule Fisher was above +1.5 and crosses below its trigger; price below SMA200.
Block order New Bar → Spread Filter → SMA(200) trend → iCustom Fisher value shift 2 and shift 1 → Cross condition → ATR stop → Risk lot size → Buy/Sell.
Stop and exit SL 1.0×ATR beyond signal swing; TP1 1.5R; TP2 2R; optional exit on opposite Fisher cross.
Important build note Requires a tested Fisher custom indicator with documented buffer numbers.

2. Mass Index Reversal Bulge EA

Project item Profectus build
Indicator route Custom Indicator / iCustom: Mass Index
Starting timeframe H1
Strategy inputs MassPeriod=25; BulgeHigh=27; ResetLevel=26.5; EMAFilter=50
BUY rule Mass Index first exceeds 27 then closes below 26.5; enter only after price closes above EMA50 or breaks the signal high.
SELL rule Same bulge/reset sequence; enter only after price closes below EMA50 or breaks the signal low.
Block order New Bar → Mass Index state variable → IF value>27 set BulgeSeen=true → IF BulgeSeen and value<26.5 → direction block using EMA50 → order.
Stop and exit SL beyond reversal swing or 1.2×ATR; target 2R; cancel if no directional trigger within 5 bars.
Important build note Mass Index warns of a possible reversal but does not supply direction; the EMA/structure block is essential.

3. Schaff Trend Cycle Pullback EA

Project item Profectus build
Indicator route Custom Indicator / iCustom: Schaff Trend Cycle
Starting timeframe M15 with H1 trend
Strategy inputs STCFast=23; STCSlow=50; STCCycle=10; Oversold=25; Overbought=75
BUY rule H1 close above SMA200; STC on M15 turns upward and crosses above 25 after a pullback.
SELL rule H1 close below SMA200; STC turns downward and crosses below 75.
Block order New M15 Bar → H1 SMA200 multi-timeframe gate → STC shift 2/1 cross → spread/session filter → ATR stop → order.
Stop and exit SL below/above pullback swing or 1×ATR; TP 1.5R–2R; exit if STC reaches opposite extreme and turns.
Important build note Use completed candles only to reduce false intrabar turns.

4. Connors RSI(2) Trend Mean-Reversion EA

Project item Profectus build
Indicator route Native RSI blocks plus optional composite Connors RSI
Starting timeframe H1
Strategy inputs RSIPeriod=2; BuyLevel=10; SellLevel=90; TrendSMA=200; MaxHoldBars=5
BUY rule Close above SMA200 and RSI(2) closes below 10; buy next bar only if spread gate passes.
SELL rule Close below SMA200 and RSI(2) closes above 90.
Block order New Bar → SMA200 direction → RSI(2) threshold → no-position check → ATR/swing stop → order → bar-count exit.
Stop and exit Exit on RSI(2) crossing 50, 1.5R target, opposite signal, or after 5 bars.
Important build note This is the simpler RSI(2) form. Full Connors RSI needs streak and percentile-rank calculations/custom indicator.

5. Ehlers Center of Gravity Turn EA

Project item Profectus build
Indicator route Custom Indicator / iCustom: Ehlers Center of Gravity
Starting timeframe M15 or H1
Strategy inputs CGPeriod=10; SignalPeriod=3; TrendSMA=200
BUY rule Price above SMA200 and COG crosses above its signal from a local low.
SELL rule Price below SMA200 and COG crosses below its signal from a local high.
Block order New Bar → SMA200 → COG main/signal buffers shift 2 and 1 → crossover → risk gate → order.
Stop and exit SL beyond recent 5-bar swing or 1×ATR; TP 1.5R–2R; exit on opposite COG cross.
Important build note Buffer mapping varies by indicator file; verify buffer 0/1 in the MT5 Data Window before live testing.

6. Relative Vigor Index Confirmation EA

Project item Profectus build
Indicator route MT5 Relative Vigor Index (RVI)
Starting timeframe H1
Strategy inputs RVIPeriod=10; TrendSMA=200; ATRPeriod=14
BUY rule Close above SMA200 and RVI main line crosses above signal below or near zero.
SELL rule Close below SMA200 and RVI main crosses below signal above or near zero.
Block order New Bar → SMA200 gate → RVI main/signal shift 2 and 1 → Cross Above/Below → spread/news filter → order.
Stop and exit SL 1×ATR or beyond signal swing; TP 2R; exit on opposite RVI cross.
Important build note This is the best first native-block build because MT5 includes RVI; check whether your Profectus version exposes both buffers.

7. Optimal Detrending Cycle Turn EA

Project item Profectus build
Indicator route Custom Indicator / iCustom: Optimal Detrending oscillator
Starting timeframe H1
Strategy inputs DetrendPeriod=20; SmoothPeriod=5; Threshold=0; TrendSMA=200
BUY rule Trend is above SMA200 and detrended oscillator crosses above zero after forming a higher oscillator low.
SELL rule Trend is below SMA200 and oscillator crosses below zero after a lower oscillator high.
Block order New Bar → SMA200 → custom oscillator shift 2/1 → zero cross → optional slope comparison → risk blocks → order.
Stop and exit SL beyond 5-bar swing; TP 1.5R–2R; time exit after one estimated half-cycle if price stalls.
Important build note Experimental: forward-test at least 30 completed trades because cycle length changes by symbol and regime.

8. Dynamic Momentum Index Pullback EA

Project item Profectus build
Indicator route Custom Dynamic Momentum Index or variable-period RSI
Starting timeframe H1
Strategy inputs MinRSIPeriod=5; MaxRSIPeriod=30; BuyLevel=30; SellLevel=70; TrendSMA=200

SELL rule Close below SMA200; DMI rises above 70 then crosses back below 70.
Block order New Bar → volatility calculation → map volatility to RSI period → DMI value shift 2/1 → threshold recovery → order.
Stop and exit SL 1×ATR beyond pullback; TP 1.5R–2R; exit on DMI opposite threshold or trend-filter failure.
Important build note If Profectus cannot change RSI period dynamically, use an iCustom DMI indicator instead of approximating it.

9. VIDYA Adaptive Channel Breakout EA

Project item Profectus build
Indicator route VIDYA plus ATR channel
Starting timeframe H1
Strategy inputs VIDYACMO=9; VIDYAEMA=12; ATRPeriod=14; ChannelATR=1.0
BUY rule Completed close above VIDYA + 1×ATR and VIDYA slope is positive.
SELL rule Completed close below VIDYA – 1×ATR and VIDYA slope is negative.
Block order New Bar → VIDYA current/prior comparison → ATR channel math → Close crossover → spread/news gate → order.
Stop and exit SL on opposite VIDYA band or 1×ATR; TP 2R; trail behind VIDYA after +1R.
Important build note MT5 has VIDYA, but use iCustom if your Profectus indicator list does not expose it.

10. Ehlers Bandpass Cycle Reversal EA

Project item Profectus build
Indicator route Custom Indicator / iCustom: Ehlers Bandpass
Starting timeframe H1
Strategy inputs BandpassPeriod=20; Bandwidth=0.3; TriggerSmoothing=3; TrendSMA=200
BUY rule Bandpass forms a trough and crosses above its trigger; optional filter requires price above SMA200.
SELL rule Bandpass forms a peak and crosses below trigger; optional price below SMA200.
Block order New Bar → optional trend gate → bandpass main/trigger shift 2 and 1 → crossover at peak/trough → risk gates → order.
Stop and exit SL beyond cycle swing; TP 1.5R–2R; exit on opposite bandpass cross or after one half-cycle.
Important build note Keep this in research mode until the indicator buffer mapping and symbol-specific cycle period are verified.

Before Moving Any Project From Experimental

  1. Compile with no errors or warnings.
  2. Back-test with variable spread and realistic commission.
  3. Run at least 30 completed demo trades per symbol/timeframe.
  4. Record win rate, profit factor, maximum drawdown and average R.
  5. Reject or revise any project that breaches the 2% daily protection rule.
  6. Retest after every parameter or indicator change—do not choose settings from one good week.

Education and risk warning: These are research blueprints, not financial advice or guaranteed profitable systems. Automated trading can lose money quickly. Results vary by broker, spread, commission, symbol, timeframe and market regime. Always test on demo before considering live use.
